KATSNAP Pole Mounted Camera System

KATSNAP is a portable, lightweight, waterproof, electrically insulated, pole mounted camera system for use by rail professionals to inspect single OLE contact wire for signs of wear.

The system integrates a GoPro Camera with digital calliper software that enables the user to accurately measure the amount of wear any given section of contact wire has suffered by making a comparison to new contact wire which is used as a benchmark.

Given predetermined measurements for the amount of wear that is acceptable/unacceptable the Katsnap is a valuable tool for making informed decisions for contact wire replacement projects, fault finding and infrastructure data reporting.

Applied using traditional insulated sectional poles or newly approved telescopic operating rods the Katsnap is easily placed onto the contact wire from the ground where the guides ensure proper alignment and positioning of the camera. High resolution images are viewed from a smart phone in real time and stills are taken remotely and later downloaded to a PC where the digital callipers are applied to carry out accurate measurements.

Manufactured using the latest 3D printing technology with high quality, high temperature, non-conductive materials for reliable service. Supplied pre-assembled in a weatherproof, high-density case with a molded foam insert offering maximum protection.
